Chicago Sky is one of the newest entrants in the list of WNBA franchises. In February 2005, a WNBA franchise was awarded to the city of Chicago, which was temporarily named as WNBA Chicago. The owners of this franchise appointed Dave Cowens as the manager and head coach of this franchise. Later the franchise was renamed as Chicago Sky on 20th September 2005. Along with that, the team-logo was released also. The team selected the colors blue and yellow for their jerseys. In the first year this franchise included the star players like Diana Taurasi, Temeka Johnson, Sue Bird, and Ryth Riley in the roster. Later they were successful to include Brooke Wyckoff, Stacey Dales, and Elaine Powell in the list of players during the expansion drafts.
