The program design responds to recommendations of an independent evaluation of the federal support to sound recording sector. The result is an innovative and up-to-date approach that builds on the successes of its predecessor the Sound Recording Development Program. The MEP is designed to assist Canada's musical entrepreneurs as they make the transition to the new digital and global economy. The program will have a budget of $23 million over three fiscal years, to be funded through an internal re-allocation. It will be administered by Telefilm Canada.
