Pizza Hut, Inc., a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. is the world's largest pizza restaurant franchise with more than 6,200 restaurants in the United States and more than 4,000 restaurants in 100 other countries. Pizza Hut has been making pizza America loves for 50 years, serving Pan Pizza, Thin and Crispy®, Veggie Lovers®, Meat Lovers® and more. As America's first national pizza chain, Pizza Hut has never stopped growing, creating and innovating to bring customers even more reasons to love Pizza Hut pizza. Franchising since 1959, Pizza Hut is a grand success. While college students in Wichita, Kansas, Frank and Dan Carney were approached by a family friend with the idea of opening a pizza parlor. Inspired, the brothers borrowed $600 from their mother, purchased secondhand equipment, and rented a small building on a busy intersection in their hometown. With that, the first Pizza Hut opened its doors in 1958. More than 40 years later, Pizza Hut has locations throughout the world serving its specialty pizzas.
