Q. How many matches do the WNBA franchises play during a regular season?
The WNBA schedules designed in such way, so that each and every team has the chance to show their best. All the 14 franchises of WNBA are separated equally into two conferences named as Eastern Conference and Western Conference. The league season runs from early May to late August. During the league session every franchise play against 4 franchises of their conference 3 times each and against remaining 2 franchises 4 times each. Each team plays twice against all the other teams of opposite conference in ‘home-and-away’ basis. After the completion of all 34 matches top 4 teams based on win-loss ratio qualify for the WNBA playoffs during September. Finals are held during late September.
