A franchise agreement is binding on both parties. To terminate it unilaterally is not an option, unless of course one party fails to perform. If, for example, your franchise agreement compels the franchisor to make periodic support visits but the franchisor fails to do so, you may have a case but before you proceed, you should consult with an experienced franchise lawyer. In the absence of any acceptable cause for termination, you have two options: either stay put until the franchise agreement expires, or inform the franchisor that you want to sell the business.
