Job fairs are popular. There are usually a few a month in most communities. Some offer general positions, while others are dedicated to specific industries. Dress appropriately when attending these fairs, and take a lot of resumes to hand out to exhibiters. Don't over load the worker at the booth with details and they will not remember who is who since these fairs are very busy. Ask them for a business card or contact information. They will review the resumes they receive, sort them into categories and contact those who are potential candidates for the open positions they are filling. Call to them a few days after the event is a good idea and might bring your resume to the top of the heap.
