WSI Young Entrepreneur Scholarship Program

As a global organization with a presence in 87 countries and expanding, our diversity profile across all levels of business operation is a reflection of the small and medium sized business community that we aim to optimally serve. For us at WSI, diversity is therefore, not just about gender, age, ethnicity or disability. It is to a large extent, about cultural sensitivities, open mindedness, thinking out-of-the-box and creating high performance teams driven by innovation and entrepreneurship.

We launched the WSI Global Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES!) Program at our Annual Excellence and Innovation Conference held in Orlando, Florida, October 2007. Under this program, WSI Consultants are scouting for young, entrepreneurial talent from all over the world. 6 finalists out of several nominations annually will progress from initial screening to final selection by an elite and distinguished panel before being awarded a WSI franchise. The Scholarship also includes a special Mentoring program by other experienced WSI Consultants to aid the young entrepreneurs in establishing a sound Internet services and consulting business. The WSI training, Internet Marketing Certification and fast-track Mentoring they receive will help them deliver Internet solutions to small and medium sized business customers.

With the launch of the Global WSI Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES!) Program, we seek to attract talented, motivated and energetic youth who are qualified and skilled to become the partners SMEs need in order to succeed with their Internet Marketing initiatives. Through this program we will empower young entrepreneurs to deliver what SMEs need - leverage Internet marketing, build their brands online and meet the shift in consumer culture influenced by the Millennial generation. By encouraging youth to establish financial independence and stability we hope to deliver on our duty as a responsible corporation in giving back to global communities.

All applicants will be judged on the following criteria:

Must be 21 - 31 years old
Possess academic excellence and good business acumen
Have a keen involvement in one's community
Possess a "can do" attitude
Convey a sense of customer orientation and a driven personality
Provide key references and/or testimonials, one of which must come from a WSI Consultant
Be extremely organized; with a flair for operational and financial management
Have a keen sense for sales and marketing
Be financially disadvantaged or a member of a visible minority
