Mentoring Success in the WSI Network11/9/2007

Around the world, business franchises are recognizing the value of Mentoring Programs. Not many organizations, however, have explored the full potential of this mechanism. WSI, the world’s leading provider of Internet solutions to small and medium sized (SME) businesses and the #1 Internet services franchise in the world, has taken Mentoring to a new level of sophistication. Having started off with experienced franchisees mentoring newer ones, the company has expanded the scope of its Mentoring Program to also include mentoring of end-clients through increasing educational seminars and profitability analysis based progress tracking. Success in the WSI network has thus come to mean a well-rounded, deep and thorough meaning of enhanced profitability for all stakeholders, franchisees, end-clients and the franchisor.

Since its inception over a decade ago, WSI has always sought ways to provide formal and informal forums for its franchisees to interact, exchange best practices and work cooperatively to ensure the collective success of the WSI network and its clients. Furthermore, WSI Consultants are trained to adopt a unique business methodology whereby they work as business partners with their clients on a long term, mutually beneficial relationship. This approach of handholding a client from early stages of e-business adoption to advanced levels of e-commerce and search engine marketing enables mentoring of small and medium sized business owners by their WSI Consultants. The overall effect of this kind of mentoring that involves need analysis, solution delivery, result monitoring and business efficiency upgrades is the ongoing and enhanced profitability for franchisees and their clients.

WSI has strived hard to create an organizational climate that encourages, enables, rewards and accelerates learning by ensuring that access to information and learning resources remains continuous, easy and affordable for all. Ron McArthur, president WSI says, “Having studied the pattern of informal mentoring within our network for the past decade or so, we decided to give it a more structured and formal look in order to optimize the positively beneficial results as well as to define set goals and objectives for all of us involved. No longer is mentoring a random effect of 2 franchisees getting together to manage a successful project. Although this may still happen sporadically, we now have several key Mentoring initiatives in place (more details provided below) to ensure that franchisees, their clients and us as the franchisor are committed to achieve defined goals over a specified time period with measurable results affecting the bottom line.”

Darren Kincaid, a Virginia, US based WSI Internet Marketing Consultant (franchisee) started his WSI business in January 2007 and in less than 6 months, he already has a good base of clients generating monthly recurring revenue plus his new business referrals are growing. “Mentoring has been the key to my early success. Even though I was very well equipped with the intensive training provided by WSI headquarters and the ongoing business coaching that I was receiving, I was a bit stunned when I landed my first big e-commerce deal. The WSI Mentoring Program allowed me the chance to review and select a Mentor in my proximity. With the knowledge and experience of a seasoned WSI Consultant, Neal Lappe, I was able to manage my client’s expectations, work efficiently with the WSI e-marketplace production partners and deliver a world class solution that is now a proud exhibit in my portfolio of clients. I would not have been able to achieve this level of success without my Mentor. The success of my client is also not a surprise by-product – we worked together to realize the desired goals and I feel great to be on my client’s speed-dial! I am not just another vendor but a valued business partner. I will continue to mentor my client towards their ongoing e-business profitability using the tools, techniques and knowledge expertise available to me through the WSI network.”

Ron McArthur concludes, “Simply put, at WSI, learning is a part of everybody’s job description and an essential component of work. Every day, in every way, we collectively look at ways to improve each WSI team member’s ability to perform their jobs at higher levels of productivity, efficiency and profitability. We do this by facilitating advanced learning using best of breed learning techniques, systems and experts. Mentoring is a cornerstone of success for all WSI touch-points.”

An Overview of WSI Mentoring Initiatives:

Ambassador Training Seminars - Ambassador Coaches are experienced WSI Internet Marketing Consultants with expertise in certain techniques or skills which have led to their ongoing profitability and high performance. The quality of training imparted by Ambassador Coaches and benefits experienced by session participants are regularly surveyed and monitored to ensure that the curriculum content and methods of training meet the changing needs of the WSI community. The subject tracks covered in these seminars range from sales and marketing to business management, customer relationship management and Internet marketing strategies.

Having designed a living resource for learning with the Ambassador Training Seminars, WSI encourages each of its Consultants to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from their experienced peers, the Ambassador Coaches. Although it is difficult to attach a monetary value to these high quality seminars, the logistical expenses required to attend an event of this nature has been valued at US$1,500 USD. In order to ensure maximum participation, the WSI Training Scholarship Fund (TSF) was created to help franchisees cover the seminar fees. Every Consultant is thus awarded an annual one-time total of US$5,000 USD to be used towards four separate Ambassador Training Seminars.

Virtual Training - As the WSI community continues to grow and expand around the globe, the company finds great value in local Consultants who can provide a wealth of learning to their regional peers or to the entire WSI community on specific areas of business. WSI endeavors to present this learning to all its Consultants, online, without having to pay for it. Virtual Training is provided in the form of “Coffee Break” Web casts (an audio/visual presentation that is broadcast over the Internet), podcasts, video presentations and e-talk shows. WSI Consultants from all over the world can log on using only their computers and an Internet connection to learn about new WSI products and services, business practices, industry trends and other topical subjects that affect their business. Consultants have the opportunity to discuss and ask the presenter questions in real-time online and the Web casts are also archived for future viewing.

Suppliers within the WSI e-Marketplace range from Production Centers to suppliers providing a diverse range of services such as Hosting solutions, Search Engine Optimization, Pay-per-click programs, Sales & Marketing Training, Copywriting, Lead Generation, Multimedia solutions, creative services and many more. As Authorized Suppliers with WSI, the quality of their products and services is the best of the best in order to help franchisees provide exceptional service to their SME customers. It is no surprise then that the people in these organizations are highly qualified and experienced in their own fields. More importantly, they are always willing to add value to the WSI community by sharing their knowledge through Virtual Training media like Webinars.

Excellence and Innovation Conferences - These conferences attract over a 150 WSI Consultants from all over the world. The objective of these two/three day conferences is to enable seamless flow of information, best practices, trade ‘secrets’, industry trends and technological advancements across the WSI network of Consultants in an environment of close networking and relationship building.

Keynote speakers at these conferences are subject matter experts of repute; leaders in different fields of specialization related to Internet Marketing and Business Consulting. In the past WSI has invited well-known and extremely busy industry experts such as Susan Sweeney, John Quarto–von Tivadar, Brad Fallon, Jay Conrad Levinson and others who willingly spared the time to come in as speakers and were very happy to be introduced to our high-profile network of WSI Consultants. Presenters at E&I are also WSI Internet Marketing Consultants who have excelled in their WSI business and consistently achieved greater profitability by introducing an innovative concept or practice. These presentations are founded in the objectives of sharing best practices that can be adopted and duplicated in a flexible manner across cultural boundaries by other WSI Consultants, anywhere in the world.

Internet Business Planning Seminars - As small business owners themselves, WSI Consultants understand and empathize with the needs and motivations of other small and medium sized business owners. Making SME businesses realize that having a website is just not enough, they help business owners retain repeat customers and attract new qualified customers through increased traffic and enhanced online conversions. To educate SME business owners about profiting from the Internet using a mix of Internet Marketing tools and techniques, WSI conducts Internet Business Planning (IBP) Seminars across North America and Europe. These seminars are a structured form of mentoring that WSI franchisees provide their SME clients.

Internet Search Toolbar Helps to Make Child Poverty History10/31/2007

- WSI Consultants Promote Free Toolbar to Raise Worldwide Funds for Charity-

Toronto, October 31, 2007… Make Child Poverty History (MCPH), a global initiative to alleviate child poverty has become the direct beneficiary of a corporate partnership that will raise charity funds simply by encouraging Internet users searching online to use a free customized toolbar. WSI, the world’s leading provider of Internet Solutions to small and medium sized businesses has entered into a strategic partnership with BenefitBar LLC  to support the MCPH initiative so that people all around the world can make a difference without spending a dime or making any extra effort. Through the vast network of over 1500 WSI Internet Consultants in 87 countries around the world, businesses and organizations will be offered a free, customized search toolbar powered by Yahoo! Search to promote their own website and support a charity of their choice.

Ron McArthur, president, WSI says, WSI is a proud supporter of the Make Child Poverty History initiative and we seek to form partnerships with other organizations that want to give back to the community. In our partnership with BenefitBar LLC, we see the promise of a greater opportunity to change lives of children around the world by simply changing the way people search the Internet. As more companies and organizations get access to their own branded BenefitBar, more online users will be able to make a difference. Each time the toolbar is used by an online user to search for something on the Internet, a donation (could be as little as half a penny each time) is raised for a charity that supports the MCPH cause. The WSI-MCPH toolbar is already available for download to raise funds for MCPH.”

BenefitBar is a patent pending copyright protected Internet based technology keeping organizations in front of their Internet audience 24/7.The BenefitBar toolbar encompassing the organization’s logo is installed as part of the supporter's Web browser, and it remains visible while he or she surfs the Web in a non-intrusive way. In addition to advertising revenue, both the search and e-commerce components, as well as potential donation, all offer ongoing fundraising and revenue generating opportunities.

Keith Grosz, president BenefitBar LLC says, BenefitBar is a way of branding the Web browsers of a company’s audience with information from their website. More importantly, it is a way to generate revenue and raise dollars for charity through our partnership with Yahoo!. We are delighted to partner with WSI as it allows us to now promote our toolbar throughout the world via their vast network. WSI Internet Marketing Consultants help small and medium sized business owners globally with their e-business and Internet marketing efforts. Now at no charge these businesses can take their website to their audience and have it in front of them whenever they are on the Internet, all the while helping charitable institutions and fulfilling the mission of Make Child Poverty History.“

The BenefitBar toolbar will help navigate traffic to an organization's website for additional potential revenue and value. Businesses can provide customers and prospects with up to date information on forthcoming events, entertaining links, news and information, advertisers and even allow purchase of merchandise through it. Once this concept catches on and multiplies throughout the WSI network, revenue will start to accumulate to support MCPH projects around the world. Setup costs and all support for creating a customized toolbar are covered by BenefitBar. There is NO cost to the organization and NO cost to the audience who downloads the custom BenefitBar/Toolbar. There is NO spyware, adware or pop-ups and it is network-secure. The toolbar is available for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers.

The WSI-BenefitBar partnership was announced at the WSI Annual Global Excellence and Innovation Conference in Orlando, Florida on October 1st 2007. WSI Consultants attending the conference in person and virtually over the Web were excited to hear about this unique partnership which allowed them a chance to generate revenue for MCPH “while they sleep”. Karen Sullivan-Correa, a WSI Consultant in Colombia expressed that, “Having operated and worked with charitable foundations for several years, I always wondered if there was a way to help common people make a difference in the world. How could everyone become part of a movement dedicated to abolishing poverty and feeding the starving children of the world today? I could hardly believe that this was made possible by WSI and BenefitBar simply changing the way people search the Internet! I am proud to be an agent of this change and will promote the free BenefitBar toolbar to all my clients so that all of us, together, can contribute to lifting hundreds of thousands of children out of abject poverty and giving them the right to food, shelter, education- the right to life!”

In conclusion, Ron McArthur says, “The goal of MCPH to help make child poverty history, one child, one village at a time, is now being extended online - one search, one click at a time. All we have to do is ensure that we spread the message around the world, that we slightly modify our behavior and inspire others to do the same.

About Make Child Poverty History (MCPH): The Make Child Poverty History initiative began in 2004 as a corporate outreach program but has expanded to encompass individuals and organizations outside of the founding corporation, WSI. MCPH is not a charity but indeed a non-governmental organization that acts as a catalyst encouraging corporations to join the fight to make child poverty history. Collective support is funneled to those organizations that are best equipped to provide sustenance, education, health care, advance the building of infrastructure and campaign for the eradication of poverty. MCPH believes that if those of us who are more fortunate shared some of our wealth with others, in time, there would be no more need. “Ours is not a just world but we can strive to make it one – one child, one village at a time.”

About BenefitBar LLC: Established in 1996 by Founder, Keith Grosz, BenefitBar is the next generation in real time communication and fundraising. Its patent-pending and copyrighted business model makes use of an Internet toolbar and presents organizations that are either non-profit or for profit with a means for fundraising and generating revenue. In addition, BenefitBar provides a simple-to-use platform for regular and ongoing communication as well as a way to stay top of mind, enhance loyalty, and keep people connected in a non-intrusive and yet entertaining way. BenefitBar was created with the goal to exceed expectations when it comes to customer service and to utilize its business model that will help organizations raise needed dollars. BenefitBar  also seeks to enhance communication with people that organizations care about.

Since 1997, the Annual WMA Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the field of Web design and development. WSI was rewarded with three 2007 WebAwards for achieving a Standard of Excellence in the Travel, Home Building and Healthcare industries. These prestigious awards reaffirm WSI's premier position in the advanced and fast-paced Internet industry.

The WebAwards recognized WSI for its remarkable development and design work over several websites developed for various organizations and institutions. The greatest honour for the company, however, is the extremely positive feedback that WSI receives from its clients. P&O Cruises, a UK based company , for instance, says that its website developed by WSI boasts a simple yet effective design radiating the spirit of holiday adventures, easy-to-navigate architecture, robust corporate branding, and easy-to-handle administrative tools for its staff to manage bookings and update online information. WSI to Launch Global Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES) Program9/28/2007

-Nominations to Kick-Off at Annual Excellence and Innovation (E&I) Conference-

Mississauga, Canada, September 28, 2007 -- WSI, the world’s leading provider of Internet Solutions to small and medium sized businesses is delighted to announce the launching of its Global Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES) Program. The announcement will be made at the company’s annual Global Excellence and Innovation (E&I) Conference being held in Orlando, Florida from October 1st to 3rd, 2007. Close to 250 WSI Internet Consultants, part of the over 1500 strong WSI franchisee network will attend this year’s US conference and commence the scouting of young, entrepreneurial talent from around the world. 6 finalists out of several nominations from around the world will progress from initial screening to final selection by an elite and distinguished panel before being awarded a WSI franchise. The Scholarship also includes a special Mentoring program by other experienced WSI Consultants to aid the young entrepreneurs in establishing a sound Internet services and consulting business that helps SME customers stay competitive and profitable.

Ron McArthur, president, WSI says, “With the launch of the Global WSI Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES) Program, we seek to attract talented, motivated and energetic youth who are qualified and skilled to become the partners SMEs need in order to succeed with their Internet Marketing initiatives. At WSI, we always strive to ensure the highest calibre of franchisees with the potential and aptitude that is required to keep pace with the dynamic and exciting nature of the Internet and the SME market space. A strong entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to excel through innovation and continuous learning are paramount to the success of a WSI Consultant. Through this program we will empower young entrepreneurs to deliver what SMEs need - leverage Internet marketing, build their brands online and meet the shift in consumer culture influenced by the Millennial generation.”

The overall population of Internet users is huge and growing every day. So what makes the Millennials stand out in this universe of online users? Dr. Brad Sago, renowned expert in marketing trends, generational issues and professor of marketing at Whitworth University explains, “Millennials are a wired generation. While Gen Xers are considered an overall very techno-literate generation who display a willingness to use the Internet, the lives of Millennials have been intertwined with the Internet. Specifically, the Internet has influenced their views of communication – that it should be instantaneous and continuous.”

Computer-able since childhood, the Millennials are accustomed to depending on computers, instant messaging, e-mail, the Web, interactive media, and cell phones in every aspect of their daily lives. These tools and gadgets have visibly and permanently influenced the personalities, attitudes, expectations, and learning strategies of this generation. WSI’s YES Program aims to tap into this extraordinary potential of today’s youngsters connecting them with the SME market. The WSI training, Internet Marketing Certification and fast-track Mentoring they receive will help them deliver Internet solutions catering to all audiences, with a special focus on the millennial consumer.

The Annual WSI Global Excellence and Innovation (E&I) Conference is aimed at presenting innovative ideas, strategies that work and sharing of Internet best practices. This year’s event takes place at the Portofino Bay Hotel from October 1st to 3rd in Orlando, Florida. Dan Monaghan, Co-founder of WSI will deliver the Keynote Address. Also on special invitation is a speaker from Google presenting on the very exciting topic “Advanced Techniques of Paid Advertising”. Also present at the conference will be representatives from leaders in the Internet industry who are members of the WSI e-Marketplace. Under its Strategic Alliance Partner Appreciation (SAPA) Program, WSI has invited these organizations to participate in the 2007 E&I Conference. To show its appreciation for the value they bring to the WSI network, these alliance partners will be awarded a WSI SAPA plaque in their honour. In addition, WSI will also make a $2000 donation on behalf of each of these partner organizations towards its global outreach program, Make Child Poverty History (MCPH).

WSI Consultants attending this year’s E&I are teeing off their combined contribution to the MCPH cause by participating in a Charity Golf Tournament. As one participant puts it, “If I can hit the greens with my fellow WSI Consultants to help a child see greener pastures in life, I’ve landed a hole-in-one. Never mind if it doesn’t happen literally and my golf ball is still staring at me after the swing!” Acting as a catalyst member of the Make Child Poverty History initiative, WSI in the last 3 years has helped sponsor through World Vision, over 250 children living in poverty around the world. The Charity Golf Tournament is one such fund-raising activity where the WSI community gets together to help the MCPH cause.

In a recent partnership with www.BenefitBar.com, WSI Consultants can now generate revenue for MCPH “while they sleep”. Launching at the E&I Conference in Orlando, a customizable search toolbar can be offered free to WSI clients. Each time the toolbar is used by an online user to search for something on the Internet, a donation (could be as little as half a penny each time) is raised for a charity that supports the MCPH cause. Once this concept catches on and multiplies throughout the WSI community, revenue will start to accumulate to support MCPH projects around the world.

In conclusion, Ron McArthur says, “The 2007 Excellence and Innovation Conference is set to be our biggest global event. To the already famed Sunshine and Sands of Florida, we now add a hearty serving of Success. The Young Entrepreneur Scholarship (YES) Program, the Strategic Alliance Partner Appreciation (SAPA) Program, the MCPH Charity Golf Tournament and the coming on board of BenefitBar are only some of the key highlights of the conference. The value of the golden nuggets that presenters will share with all participants over the course of three days is beyond measure. We can barely contain the excitement and pulsating energy of what will be undoubtedly, a power-packed gathering – Excellence and Innovation at its best“.

Toronto, August 2, 2007…Europe’s leading business franchise directory, Franchise Europe has ranked WSI in the Number 1 spot under the Computer, Electronic and Internet Services category of their Top 500 Franchises list. Also making it into the coveted Top 100 franchises listed by Franchise Europe, WSI adds another notch to its decade long reign of leading Internet services franchises.

The company has held this Number 1 spot in North American Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 listing for 6 years in a row. It was also featured recently by another leading US based industry business publication Success Magazine in its ranking of “Top Ten Franchises We Love”.

Ron McArthur, president WSI says, “We are very proud of what WSI as a team has been able to accomplish in the last year. All our efforts and initiatives are geared towards ensuring the success and profitability of our franchise network.  We continually hear the success stories from our franchisees in the field, but it's exhilarating when the world recognizes the great progress we've made as well.” He further adds, “Our ranking as #42 in Entrepreneur Magazine's Annual Franchise 500 issue this year was exciting enough. That was followed by featuring in Success Magazine’s Top Ten ranking. Earning the Number 1 position in Franchise Europe’s listing as well is now the real icing on the cake for us! Needless to say, it also encourages us to aim higher and strive further towards our vision of being the world’s number 1 provider of Internet solutions to small and medium sized businesses.”

The WSI network is spread across 87 countries with over 1500 WSI Internet Consultants serving the needs of the dynamic and growing global SME market. This is a significant achievement for the Canadian based Internet Solutions company that begun operations little over a decade ago. WSI continues to expand its network in order to provide Internet Solutions for more small and medium sized (SME) companies to profit from their online businesses.

Seeing increasing demand for business-focused websites that could be deployed quickly, without sacrificing quality or features, WSI has invested significantly in the advanced WSI Modular Development Technology™ (WSI MDT™). This technology is an essential part of the company’s value proposition and has helped WSI create a niche in the Internet services industry worldwide. Through extensive customer research the company identified the features that majority of all businesses need for an effective website. Working closely with business partners and its e-Marketplace suppliers, WSI has built an entire library of these components in advance so they’re ready to go when needed. Using WSI MDT™, WSI Consultants can quickly develop a wide variety of website solutions using any combination of these features. Less production time means less cost to clients. At WSI, the focus is on the ABCs of Internet Marketing™; the A being Affordable Web Solutions, B is Building Targeted Traffic and C is Converting More Customers Online.

The Right Time to Partner with WSI2/2/2007

The online advertising revolution is undeniably taking place right now; in fact, current data suggests that there has never been a better time to take advantage of all that the world wide web has to offer.

A recent and exciting eMarketer finding even reveals that worldwide Internet advertising spending accounts for over $16 billion USD. Leading the pack in terms of commerce are popular search engines Yahoo! and Google, each accounting for thousands of goods and services being purchased, traded, and sold around the clock.

This global marketplace has enabled even modest-sized businesses to compete against their international “cousins”; however, putting up a website isn’t enough to help them snag a piece of this billion-dollar Internet advertising “pie.” Without proven results to assist them in staying competitive, small to medium sized organizations could find themselves struggling to remain viable as other companies more successfully woo customers.

For companies looking for a lucrative Internet marketing business partner, there’s no better choice than the #1 Internet and Technology Franchise in the world, WSI (“We Simplify the Internet”). WSI’s amazing growth and time-tested online advertising strategies and solutions have helped untold numbers of business owners keep their “edges” in today’s ever-changing market.

WSI’s highly trained and credentialed Internet franchise owners bring the WSI strategies directly to their community’s enterprises by sharing lucrative business solutions in a methodical, results-oriented manner.

Leading WSI is Ron McArthur, whose extensive background in franchise development and advancement has meant profitability for thousands of individuals. McArthur and his colleagues focus on providing the most rewarding Internet business franchise to men and women around the world. When asked why he feels WSI has steadily grown over its 11 years, McArthur confidently asserts, “WSI is a franchise based on a proven business model and an industry that has limitless growth potential.”

Currently, over 1500 WSI Internet Marketing Consultants operate in 87 countries. These entrepreneurs are benefiting from eMarketer’s predicted 33.2% online advertising growth rate this year (over last year), and there’s wealth still to be earned by motivated visionaries. Annual online advertising growth rates indicate that cyberspace will remain a critical economic force; consequently, WSI is the ideal franchise opportunity for anyone striving to achieve personal and professional success using a reliable model.

Every WSI Internet marketing consultant undergoes initial, then ongoing, training and support. One of the many techniques that’s emphasized is the WSI Lifecycle™, a method of customer management that uses a structured format. The Lifecycle™ methodology uniquely takes a business from “prospect” status to a highly satisfied, repeat customer.

Even Entrepreneur magazine, one of the top business magazines and websites, has honored WSI, ranking the decade-old company as one of the top 50 Internet franchises. Such recognition reflects the energy WSI’s team has spent honing WSI’s valuable systems.

For anyone who craves financial freedom and the ability to work independently using a time-tested, respected system, WSI is the answer.

What Makes WSI the #1 Canadian Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine?2/1/2007

February 2007: Being a global leader and the #1 Rated Computer Technology and Internet - Based Franchise is definitely a major achievement in a mass of other technology - based franchises. But when Entrepreneur Magazine hands out the distinction of #1 Franchise in Canada—people really take notice.

WSI, an Internet consulting service for small to medium sized businesses, has recently been given the honour of #1 Franchise in Canada by Entrepreneur Magazine. As Entrepreneur Magazine states, “WSI is without question a real franchising success story. In little more than 10 years in business, they have continued to grow dramatically as a global leader in the Internet Industry. Entrepreneur Magazine (January 2007) has recognized WSI as the #1 Internet and Technology Franchise and an independent assessment of the Franchise 500 reveals that WSI is also the #1 Canadian Franchise overall.”

As a leading Internet Franchise Service, WSI boasts 1500 franchisees in 87 countries, proving their business system is more than effective and efficient. Many small and medium sized businesses are finding the benefits of using WSI to improve their company’s status. By offering a strategic and patent pending system, WSI is able to strengthen their client’s business, advancing them into the future. But this is not possible through a website alone; other mediums are used as well to ensure the client receives the best possible service. And, because of the increased usage of the Internet, there is a growing demand for people to own a WSI franchise. People in small and medium sized businesses are realizing that, to keep up with the heavy weights, they need some guidance in the area of moving their business forward. They need to have someone show them the opportunities available and take them each step of the way. To assist a company of a smaller size and help them become a success is imperative in today’s world, especially when the bigger companies can pay whatever is necessary to get the outcome they seek. The smaller businesses aren’t afforded as many resources to choose from and are now looking to the professionals of WSI to lead them into the future.

This rapid growth demonstrates an increased need for people to take the helm of a WSI franchise and lead other businesses to successful outcomes. Through a patent pending system called LifeCycle, WSI is able to offer its franchise owners an effective method with which to assist their clients. WSI trains and certifies their Internet Marketing Consultants in the ever-expanding area of Internet Technology, providing them with whatever support is necessary to have their own successful WSI franchise.

Some of the WSI services include:

Consultation
Design
Development
Hosting
Optimization
Site Registration
Review of Connectivity
Training
Marketing Support
Being thorough with the franchisee training and certification ensures a successful business for anyone interested in starting their own WSI franchise and assisting those businesses in their own community. The more WSI franchises there are, the better chances of survival that a small and medium sized business has.

WSI’s clear vision and forward thinking have also dubbed them 4th fastest growing International Franchise and 6th Top Global Franchise. The honour of Entrepreneur Magazine’s #1 spot for Internet and Technology Franchise is definitely a boon for WSI. Being recognized for consistently building a business and offering solutions that work has proven WSI to be a driving force in the Internet Franchise business.

World Talk Radio Interviews WSI President Ron McArthur 12/15/2006

World Talk Radio Interviews WSI President Ron McArthur

- WSI’s ‘Freedom Franchise’ Is a Unique Opportunity for Franchisees to help SMEs in their local market harness the power Internet-

December 15, 2006 – Toronto, Ontario.   WSI Internet Consulting & Education President Ron McArthur was a recent guest on World Talk Radio’s “Franchise Interviews” program to discuss WSI – the largest Internet franchise serving small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) in 87 countries worldwide.  In the interview, Ron gives insight into the WSI Business Opportunity and the history of the Internet and its impact on businesses and our day to day lives.

Ron McArthur, as WSI’s President, is well-positioned to discuss the stages, or generations, that the Internet has evolved through.  From the first stage of ‘brochure-ware’ websites that were flat and limited to today’s interactive, functionality-rich websites, the Internet has changed dramatically since the mid-1990s when WSI was founded.  As the Internet changes the way we do business, Ron details why the WSI franchise opportunity is a unique one for entrepreneurs, giving them the tools and proven system they need to help small to medium sized businesses achieve unprecedented success online.

Ron explains how the WSI opportunity is as unique as the over 1500 WSI Internet Consultants around the world.  Coming from business backgrounds as diverse as sales and marketing and information technology, WSI Consultants understand the needs of their SME customers. They are entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs – that’s what makes a WSI Consultant so special. Ron believes that all successful entrepreneurs possess the desire to be their own boss and be successful, which means being a sales person, project manager, marketer, book keeper and administrator.

WSI Consultant franchisees receive extensive training and ongoing learning opportunities to keep them ahead of the pack with leading edge technologies.  Ron explains that he believes that the Internet is still in its beginning stages, and that there is no limit to how it can change our day to day lives. That’s why WSI has expanded to become the largest provider of Internet Solutions to SMEs in the world, and why he says WSI has no plans of slowing down.  The WSI franchise opportunity is open to anyone with the entrepreneurial spirit who wants to join a team, working together with other professionals to follow a proven system to get a jump start on developing a business and realizing success.

InvertirenBosques.com has the operational aim of distributing to private investors noble/tropical timber destined for the global transformation market. The company obtained a distribution agreement from Bosques Naturales, a Spanish company specialized in establishing and developing sustainable forestry plantations on fertile agricultural land, cultivating trees selected according to their capacity for vigorous growth and ability to produce timber.

Through the acquisition of noble hardwood trees, the investor becomes a partner in a high value timber production business.

Profits can be accrued in two ways: the client-owner of the trees earns value on the plants as they grow naturally, but can also benefit from noble hardwood timber market prices rising (timber trades on international markets).

Award Winning Website Makes a Difference for African Children Affected by AIDS9/29/2006

Food4Africa’s new website helps increase donations to feed children in Africa.

Johannesburg, South Africa, September 29, 2006 --(PR.COM)-- WSI (We Simplify the Internet) has honored the Food4Africa website (www.food4africa.org) with a 2006 WSI Web Award for Best Product Showcase at their Excellence and Innovation Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The site showcases the efforts of client Gordon Minott and his team from Food4Africa, to provide two nutritious meals a day for children with AIDS in Africa.

Over 2 million children in South Africa and more than 12 million children in Sub-Sahara Africa have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. At present, Food4Africa has identified over 520,000 desperate and vulnerable children in South Africa that are in dire need of food. The Food4Africa organization is currently able to feed 13,800 children every day and assist an additional 1200 terminally ill adults.

Gordon Minott of Food4Africa worked with WSI Consultant Francois Muscat with the intention of increasing the organization’s exposure on the Web and to help visitors to the site understand the dire needs of children in Africa. By increasing traffic to the site, Minott and Muscat hope to increase awareness of the cause, and, in turn, increase donations to the organization. The Internet provides Food4Africa with a medium to gain exposure and educate the public on the situation in Africa.

Minott stated, “It has been a very rewarding experience working with our WSI consultant Francois and his team. Through their knowledge and support, the visibility of Food4Africa on the Internet search engines has been improved beyond what we ever anticipated. As we go forward from month to month, we know that the number of children we feed increases due to the efforts of Francois, his team and the tremendous support from WSI.”

By working with a WSI Consultant, Food4Africa was able to benefit from WSI’s Internet Marketing focus, knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, and website traffic generation. Due to the excellent results the site has achieved, Minott feels that the non-profit organization received an excellent return on their investment, and great support from the WSI team. In the first month, the site received 1400 visitors, and by August, this number had grown by over four times per month.

The current goal for the site is to convert many of these site visitors into providing donations to help feed the children. Minott and Muscat plan to accomplish this by focusing the content of the site on how easy it is to donate, and how affordable the donations can be while still making a great impact. For less than $3 USD donation per month a child can be fed two nutritious meals a day for a month.

Gordon Minott hopes that Food4Africa will spread to be an International initiative. The organization has divisions in the UK as well as South Africa, and has affiliates in Germany and the US, and through the global medium of the Internet, they intend to spread their cause around the globe.

“As Patron of Food4Africa my wife Eloise and I are proud to be involved in an international campaign that feeds thousands of malnourished children and orphans in South Africa,” stated John Paul DeJoria. “We invite everybody to join us in making the world a better place for those in need. Please visit our award winning website and pledge a donation towards our cause. ‘Success unshared is failure’.”

Winning an award for Best Product Showcase in the 2006 WSI Web Awards is a great leap forward for Food4Africa. This accomplishment will help increase the visibility of the website resulting from promotion of the awards and the winning sites by WSI through their global network of over 1500 Consultants in 87 countries worldwide.

WSI introduced the first annual WSI Web Awards to showcase the best of the thousands of Internet solutions created each year by WSI Consultants using the customized services and products of the WSI e-Marketplace Production Centers and Authorized Suppliers. WSI had thousands of submissions of sites to be considered for the 2006 WSI Web Awards. Each site was scored and ranked by a global team of experienced Consultant site auditors, and sites with a score of 90 out of a 100 or over in their category were evaluated and short listed, resulting in 48 sites nominated as WSI Web Awards finalists. Sites were then voted on by the global community of 1500 plus WSI Consultants to determine the winners.

WSI Executive to Earn Franchise Certification2/28/2006

April 13, 2006 - Toronto, Canada.

Maribel Guiste, Vice President Operations at WSI, the #1 Internet and Tech Services Franchise in the world, is the first and youngest female Canadian Certified Franchise Executive (CFE). The honor was awarded by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives at a graduation ceremony held in Palm Springs, California On February 28, 2006.

The Institute fo Certified Franchise Executives is the academic arm of the International Franchise Association's (IFA) Educational Foundation. IFA is the world's largest trade organization representing the franchising sector.

“The CFE course was challenging and well rounded covering academic and practical aspects of Franchise Management. At times it was difficult to handle the pressures of work, managing a family and coping with the rigorous syllabus of this course,” says Ms. Guiste . “As I experienced the rewarding moment of receiving the certification today, I could not do enough to thank my family, friends, peers and colleagues at WSI for their invaluable support and understanding to help make this possible. Canada has a strong franchising industry which I am excited to be a part of. To date there are only ten Canadians in the IFA program and this is the first year a Canadian will have graduated. I am proud to represent both Canada and WSI, and I am determined to utilize and share my knowledge to help WSI maintain its position as the world’s leading franchise organization,” she comments.

Ron McArthur, President of WSI adds , “All of us at WSI are very happy for Maribel. We congratulate and thank her for bringing this honour to our company. She has been and will remain, truly one of our best management assets. We look forward to continuing our journey of innovation, expansion and consolidation as we build the WSI brand world-wide. We are well equipped to do this with the skilled managerial capabilities of Maribel and all our executives and managers leading a motivated and high caliber staff”.

Joining the premier franchise company in the world, WSI, after having run her own enterprise, was a way for Ms. Guiste to be in touch with the dynamic, growth-oriented small and medium sized (SME) business community at a global level. Ms. Guiste looks upon her past 7 years of her tenure as Vice President Operations with WSI as “tremendously rewarding in the learning, networking and overall business knowledge of franchising I have gained through this experience in the fast paced Internet industry”.

Nearly 400 candidates are currently enrolled in the CFE program, which provides candidates with expanded knowledge, industry recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing. To earn the CFE designation, candidates must complete a rigorous course of study, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program is designed for motivated, experienced franchising professionals to enhance their grasp of the fundamentals and complexities of franchising. For more about the CFE program, visit http://www.franchise.org or contact IFA Media Relations on 1-202-628-8000.

Franchise Options Ireland Interviews WSI President 12/23/2005

Toronto, Canada

FranchiseOptions.ie, Ireland’s only website wholly dedicated to franchising, recently had Paul Golden interview WSI Internet Consulting & Education’s (WSI) President, Ron McArthur about the company’s unique business opportunity and services WSI provides their clients throughout Ireland and the rest of the world. The article “Opportunity Knocks Online”, which is also available in the Winter edition of Franchise & Business Options Ireland magazine, opens with the inconceivable fact that while the Internet has improved the way in which business is conducted and profit margins worldwide, yet a surprising few businesses have actually taken advantage of the opportunities that e-Business provides.

The reality that businesses have not tapped the Internet’s profit potential comes as no surprise to Ron McArthur. And, as President of the world’s #1 Internet Business Service and the largest network of it’s kind, he is determined to change this situation for the benefit of those businesses who stand to gain the most from e-Business − small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “We are making e-Business accessible to SMEs, which would previously have been the domain of large companies.” This is good news for WSI’s typical customer, the SME that has not yet exploited the potential of the Internet and wants a relationship with an expert that understands their business and the unique challenges of the area in which they operate.

McArthur goes on to explain that the company always intended to franchise its’ offering as it was clear from the very start of their venture that there was a huge need for education and a system that would enable small businesses to benefit from the Internet. This hypothesis remains true today as the speed and volume of technological advancements has a crushing effect on many business owners who try to navigate the dense and diverse Internet landscape on their own. This is where WSI Internet Consultants come in to play. WSI has been offering franchises for over a decade now and they have found franchising is the most effective way to quickly and effectively build a network of consultants who are certified in their field so that they are able to help SMEs in their local communities, wherever in the world this may be.

The article goes on to share that the WSI franchise offering attracts people from diverse backgrounds and as a franchisor, WSI ensures that each successful Internet Consultant is given the knowledge and tools to help their clients, today and in the future, via a robust support structure and ongoing training opportunities. McArthur also provides some detail into the Internet Consultant selection and training process and the costs associated with owning and operating a WSI office, including just how WSI is able to develop and maintain such affordable Internet Solutions for their clients.

WSI Internet Web Accessibility Report Published on Leading Technology Website 11/15/2005

Toronto, Canada

WSI Internet Consulting & Education, the global leader in providing Internet Solutions to the small and medium-sized business market, takes pride in educating the business community and the public in general about Web Accessibility. Through the media, client seminars and the over 1000 strong network of WSI Internet Consultants who operate around the world, WSI is opening the door to accessible websites. Recently WSI published a comprehensive report on Web Accessibility for Technology-Reports.com, a leading technology research and education website maintained by
Sapien Partners (formerly Chase Associates).

This report covers all the most important aspects about this increasingly relevant topic, including an overview of what Web Accessibility is and how to make a website accessible. Business owners, government bodies and special interests groups will find this report’s discussion regarding the economic and legislative implications that providing information without barriers is having and will have in the near future particularly pertinent. As WSI VP of Knowledge Management, Valerie Brown-Dufour states, “We have made our physical world more accessible for disabled persons. The next logical step is accessibility for disabled persons in the electronic world”.

According to WSI, universally accessible websites are not just the ethical choice, they make economic sense. The economic benefits of accessible websites are widespread but rarely understood by most businesses that don’t factor in that an accessible website is more likely to generate a greater Return on Investment because it services more people. As WSI’s report states, Web Accessible sites also have better rankings on search engines because the content can be more accurately predicted and linked to relevant search terms. And, websites that meet even the minimum level of Web Accessibility standards have the added function of being accessible via PDAs, telephones, and similar devices that use alternative browsers. With the market for these devices booming, so too will the demand for websites that conform to Web Accessibility standards and are thereby compatible with these technologies.

WSI Introduces Video Email Technology11/3/2005

TORONTO, ON, November 2, 2005 -- WSI Internet Consulting & Education today announced their global multi-language video email product called WSI Live Video Email; opening up exciting and affordable multimedia marketing opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses.

WSI Live Video Email allows business owners to quickly and easily capture full-color video messages, using a Webcam and microphone, which can then be sent to any number of prospects via email from a Web-based Control Panel. In addition to the video message, the emails deliver a complete custom-branded experience by positioning ad graphics and hyperlinks for the business alongside the video. Business owners can also upload pre-recorded video to be used in their video email campaigns, leveraging off any existing video they may have already prepared.

“Video email has outstanding potential as a cost-effective marketing vehicle that cuts through the clutter and gets noticed,” states WSI President Ron McArthur. The impact of online video is up to four times greater than that of any other format. And, statistics show that Web users on average watch 21 seconds of a 30 second Web ad. These features sold us on the technology but as a global Internet service provider, it was particularly important that our video email suite support our global network of clients. We’re proud to offer our Internet Consultants and their clients with video email in multiple languages.”

Email, widely regarded as the Internet’s first “killer application” has long been used to send different files as attachments along with text messages. In fact, an estimated 30 billion emails are sent everyday and email penetration is at an all time high with 80% of active Internet users accessing email on a daily basis (Nielsen/NetRatings). But large file sizes and incompatible standards made sending video by email impractical. WSI Live Video Email solves this problem by using a multi-format encoding scheme that automatically converts each video into any of the leading video standards, such as Widows Media, QuickTime, RealPlayer and Flash.

Instead of sending the actual video file, the email contains a preview image and special link to the video file which is located on WSI’s streaming video server. When a recipient opens the video link, this server automatically detects which format the recipient is capable of viewing and serves the appropriate file.

Some of the technology highlights of WSI Live Video Email include:

• Seamless integration with easy-to-use streaming video all from one inbox
• Offers the strongest spam and virus protection filters available and is POP3 compliant
• Deliverable in any media format (you no longer have to worry about deciding which movie player to prepare your video content in)
• WSI’s transcoding server side appliance transforms the original video into multiple media formats
• Available at high and low bandwidth-speed

By adding video to email marketing campaigns business owners can describe their products or services in a more dynamic way, using proven sales techniques like demonstrations and video testimonials from satisfied customers. “It’s like putting an infomercial in their inbox,” explains Ron Adelman, a WSI Internet Consultant located in St. Louis, Missouri who has had great interest in the product from his client base. And, with pricing that’s easily accessible to WSI’s target market of small to medium-sized businesses, WSI Live Video Email packages offer everything a business needs to create and manage multimedia marketing campaigns.

All customers need is an inexpensive Webcam and microphone. The Web-based WSI Live Video Email Control Panel works like popular email applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Hotmail and has many of the same features, like contact management, appointment setting and calendaring. It also has an easy step-by-step video recording “Wizard” to simplify the video production process and reporting views so business owners can track performance statistics for their campaigns.

“We’re always looking for innovative tools that can help our customers use the Internet more effectively,” adds McArthur. “WSI Live Video Email is the latest product in our interactive suite of services including WSI Live Video Conferencing and WSI Live Video on Demand for Websites.”

As an introduction to this new service, WSI Internet Consultants are offering businesses a free personal demonstration and WSI Live Video Email trial account to try the product hands-on. More information regarding WSI Live Video Email is available at www.wsiconsultants.com/VideoEmail.asp. To find a local Internet Consultant, business owners should visit www.wsiconsultants.com and use the Internet Consultant Locator feature.

WSI President Shares Internet Marketing Expertise with Prestigious Canadian Newspaper10/7/2005

Toronto, Canada

WSI President, Ron McArthur, this week shared his organization’s expertise regarding online marketing and the benefits and expanded possibilities that improvements in the ability to measure the effectiveness of such activities is making. Mr. McArthur shared his views as a guest expert for the Globe & Mail’s Front Lines features section which offers the Globe’s 2,692,000 strong weekly readership perspectives on current issues and events from people working at the forefront of Canada’s technology industry.

As the President of the leading Internet services business, Mr. McArthur is an ideal candidate to discuss online marketing and how it is evolving. He chose to focus on how marketing on the Internet has progressed from a leap of faith, due to the virtual inability to measure results that was once the norm, to a viable and worthwhile investment. As he describes, organizations are moving towards a mandate that requires their marketing departments to provide measured results (cost/value) so that promotional efforts can be benchmarked and evaluated against alternative options. And this makes sense for small and medium-sized businesses as well.

In his piece, Mr. McArthur outlines how online marketing was once considered a risky endeavor that smaller firms refrained from participating in due to the lack of budgetary wiggle room that larger firms have; essentially preventing them from taking the leap of faith once a prerequisite to online marketing. Smaller firms have a lot to look forward to however as the on-line marketing measurement tools that larger firms have, have become readily available to everyone. On-line marketing tools take the form of new technologies developed to meet the need for scientific metrics and the innovations in eMarketing such as video email.

WSI forecasts that video email will prove to be a real breakthrough in on-line marketing based on its ability to enable businesses of any size to create and distribute entertaining and personalized video messages at a low cost. And they can track how many viewers and responders they have to each and every email sent. The marketing field is now leveled - smaller firms can compete with their larger competitors who have cornered the market on television and print advertising; further strengthening the Internet’s position as the “great equalizer” in business. And, unlike the early days of online marketing, the introduction of video email to the masses comes with an inviting technology that has measurable results.

Observatoire de la Franchise Interviews WSI President 9/30/2005

Toronto, Canada

Observatoire de la Franchise is a leading supplier of information regarding franchising for the French speaking market in Europe. With a listing of over 700 global franchises, complete with analysis of the key selling points of each, the website www.observatoiredelafranchise.fr receives over 200,000 visitors a month. In their ongoing effort to assist individuals considering franchising as a business opportunity, L’Observatoire recently interviewed WSI President, Ron McArthur, regarding his experiences as part of the WSI family. The interview quickly turned to the future of the Internet and WSI’s position within its evolution.

Interviewer Rodolphe Hatchadourian was particularly intrigued to find out what makes WSI not only the largest global network of its kind, but also the #1 Internet services business in the world. In response, Mr. McArthur touched on the Internet’s limitless potential, how the Internet has become essential to doing business anywhere and everywhere, the quality of WSI franchisees (Internet Consultants) and the strong infrastructure in place to support the entire network. This was followed by a brief outline of the key services that WSI Internet Consultants provide to their small and medium-sized business clients.

The conversation soon turned to WSI’s global vision of the Internet and its evolution. And, while the evolution of the Internet can scarcely be pinpointed on account of the fact that no other medium or technology has ever experienced such widespread adoption or immense evolution in the history of time, Mr. McArthur was quick to point out that the Internet will undoubtedly gain in popularity and businesses will continue to rely on this medium for their prosperity - even their survival - amidst the developing global economy.

In closing, Mr. McArthur outlined WSI’s approach to the French market in Europe and noted that the organization is also turning its’ sights on Japan and China as important emerging markets.

WSI’s VP of Knowledge Management Tagged as Expert in Web Accessibility7/20/2005
Toronto, Canada

In an article entitled “Empowering the disabled with Web Accessibility” written by Mari-Len De Guzman of IT World Canada (19 Jul 2005), Valerie Brown, Vice President, Knowledge Management, WSI was extensively quoted on Web accessibility and what it means to business.

The IT World article states: “The UK, Australia and France are pioneering Web accessibility initiatives through domestic legislation. In these countries, Web site owners are mandated to provide a level of Web accessibility, according to Valerie Brown, Vice-President, Knowledge Management at WSI, a Toronto-based Internet consulting firm.”

The article goes on to quote: “WSI is offering Web accessibility as an option to clients building a Web site.”

"When serving our clients, we come to them with the latest information like accessibility, making sure that if there is legislation that they need to abide by, that we can build that for them. Or, if there is no [accessibility] legislation, at least help them understand that it is coming and that at certain point we may have to build or upgrade their Web site to be accessible", Brown said.

The IT World article will appear in Computer World Canada, Network World Canada and Network World US (with changes for the US market).

WSI Corporate will be sending an informational press release to all of our markets the week of August 15, 2005. Stay tuned for more coverage on this important topic.

Something’s ’Phishy’ Online: Avoiding the Bait of Online Scams5/26/2005

Toronto, Canada

Phishing, the practice of luring unsuspecting victims to disclose personal information online, has quickly become the fastest-growing security threat to Internet users. Governments, businesses and individuals worldwide are taking this threat seriously, as are WSI Internet Consultants who are prepared to help their clients avoid falling victim to this and other forms of online scams.

The objective of the phishing scam is to collect sensitive information to commit identity theft and run up bills, empty bank accounts or commit crimes in the victim’s name. Phishers accomplish this by sending emails or pop-up messages under the guise of a legitimate business; banks, online payment services, Internet service providers, even government organizations. Recipients are solicited to submit personal information in order to “validate” or “update” their account information or face dire consequences.

Phishing is particularly insidious as it exploits Internet-based technology to track the activities of Internet users; identifying the businesses or organizations a particular target deals with, and thereby lending credibility to the scam and increasing the potential that the target will divulge the information desired. Phishers have been known to collect information using dummy-sites developed to fool targeted individuals into believing these are legitimate sites of trusted businesses or organizations.

To avoid falling victim to this and other online scams, Internet users are being warned to be cautious with whom they do business online and to never transmit sensitive information via email. Emails or pop-up messages that ask for personal information should be deleted, and users should never open attachments or click on links that seem suspicious or are sent from individuals or companies not known to them. Credit card statements should also be checked as soon as they are received and any dubious charges investigated through the provider. Anti-virus software and firewalls can also protect you from unintentionally accepting phishing emails or pop-ups which often also contain spyware or viruses.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) is actively investigating the threat of phishing and Internet Service Providers, led by AOL are working towards preventing this activity online. These organizations continue to identify and limit the access of Phishers to the online community, instigating legal action when appropriate.

As leading Internet experts serving small- to medium-sized businesses worldwide, WSI is doing its part to protect its clients by continually educating its Internet Consultants on this and other security threats. “We strongly believe that the only way to fully protect yourself is to understand and be able to identify the threats you face so that you can take the necessary precautions to avoid being victimized,” explains Christopher Booth, WSI’s VP of Enterprise Technology Services. “The information and support we give our Internet Consultants enables them to ensure that their clients are safeguarded from phishing and other Internet-based threats.”

WSI Introduces International Internet Consultant Advisory Council 5/19/2005

Toronto, Canada

WSI’s Toronto-based headquarters announces the creation of an Internet Consultant Leadership Advisory Council to create additional value for their worldwide network of Internet Consultants (ICs). This new initiative affirms WSI’s ongoing commitment to understanding the various needs and opportunities of its Internet Consultants and will enhance communication within the network so as to improve the allocation of resources to better meet the needs of the system and enable even greater growth and success.

The Council, made up of 12 Internet Consultants representing WSI’s major global markets, has been selected via a network-wide nomination process. The selected Council members represent: Canada, Central/South America, Europe, New Zealand/Australia, the UK and Ireland and the United States. They will hold their seats on the Council for a minimum of 1 year during which they will solicit the feedback and suggestions from groups of ICs in the regions they represent.

The structure of the Council has been established to facilitate the flow of information and innovation, in both directions, between WSI’s Home Office and its international network of Internet Consultants serving over 1000 local markets worldwide. Meetings of the Council will function as forums for presenting and discussing matters that concern the entire network and enable the open sharing of information. Areas of focus will include promoting better communication within the WSI e-Marketplace, improving relationships, facilitating cooperation on marketing and advertising, enhancing business operations, training, as well as product introduction, selection and development. It is the role of the Council to evaluate recommendations and innovations from around the world and use this input to contribute to exploiting new opportunities and furthering WSI’s objective of being the number one provider of Internet Solutions to small- and medium-sized business customers.

Building on WSI’s global reach with a local presence approach to business, the Council will help WSI’s Home Office gain more insight into regional market needs, and proactively anticipate issues its local Internet Consultants may face. Working from these insights, Council members will act in an advisory capacity in the rollout of new initiatives, thereby improving the effectiveness of the network as a whole.

The first meeting of the Council will take place on Monday, May 30th in Toronto, Canada. Future meetings are scheduled to coincide with WSI’s Excellence and Innovation Conferences, where its Internet Consultants convene to celebrate achievements and share their best-practices and innovations with the entire network.

WSI President Ron McArthur recently shared his enthusiasm about the Internet Consultant Advisory Council with the WSI network: “I am sincerely pleased at the tremendous response this new initiative has garnered from the IC community throughout the nomination process and in the feedback we continue to receive, and, I am excited to begin working with the 12 outstanding ICs that make up this Council. I have no doubt that this collaborative effort will reap incredible results for the entire network.”

WSI Announces Plans to Harness the Internet to Help Feed the World5/14/2004

BILLIONS AND BILLIONS SERVED: MONTHLY TRAFFIC TO WSI’S CORPORATE WEBSITE HITS RECORD HIGH2/9/2004
Toronto, Canada

By utilizing the same technologies that helped to establish online success for their clients, WSI’s own corporate website (www.wsicorporate.com) now receives more traffic than any other franchise website in the world.

With over a half billion hits per month traversing through its global network, WSI, the global leader in providing Internet Solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses is leading by example. Through its commitment to innovation, education, and customer satisfaction, WSI’s rapid growth has made its corporate website one of the most frequently visited online destinations in the franchising industry.

“It’s amazing to see just how much traffic our corporate site gets now,” says WSI Chief Executive Officer Louis Zalany. “To say over half a billion hits a month, it takes a minute for the scope of that number to really sink in.” With its rapidly growing network of Internet Consultants operating throughout the world, wsicorporate.com acts as a centralized starting point for the company’s franchisees, potential franchisees and customers alike. Filled with details about WSI’s products, services and unique methodology, the corporate site provides valuable information to potential clients, often introducing them to WSI for the first time and generating leads for WSI’s many franchisees. The explosive growth of visitor traffic to the WSI site confirms what the company has been telling its clients for years; the Internet is the single most important communications tool of our time and business owners the world over want to learn how to leverage its power.

Still a comparatively new player in the world of franchising, WSI has easily surpassed one of the most successful companies in the history of franchising, McDonald’s, in terms of global Internet traffic. As of January 2004, WSI was ranked 5,519 sites ahead of the industry giant according to a leading website traffic analyst. Even more remarkable is the large margin between WSI and other top franchises as listed by Entrepreneur magazine. WSI’s corporate site has a commanding 14,000 site lead over fast-food franchise Subway, and as the “Top Ten” progresses, major international brands fall even farther behind the Internet Solutions provider.

When presented with these latest numbers, newly-appointed WSI Chief Operating Officer Ron McArthur chose to focus instead on what is yet to come. “As we continue to develop as a company, our global traffic and thereby our international brand exposure will increase,” states McArthur. “Passing half a billion hits per month is a great accomplishment, but we’ll be all the happier when we grow to surpass a billion hits each month, and beyond. Our goal is to continue to work hard in order to remain the leading brand in Internet Consulting and to provide our clients with the opportunity to be amongst the leaders in their respective fields.”

By already surpassing franchise industry giants, WSI has shown that a combination of innovative technology and proven business systems can accelerate any business into a position of advantage. With this knowledge at hand, WSI’s international network of Internet Consultants will continue to teach small-to mid-size businesses how to compete with, and even surpass, their large scale competition in the online marketplace.

INTERNET EDUCATION THE BEST DEFENSE AGAINST NETWORK SECURITY THREATS AND SPAM12/4/2003
Toronto, Canada

Internet security firm mi2g Ltd. estimates that digital attacks from hackers and viruses have resulted in over $100 billion in damages to websites worldwide in 2003. A record level of attacks—20,000, in the month of January alone—helped make Internet security one of the leading issues in the online world in 2003. It is predicted that these numbers will continue to increase with the total economic damage from all types of digital attacks worldwide passing the $250 billion mark in 2004. This poses a serious threat to online businesses, but it’s a threat that can be combated through proper education on the subject. This is the message being relayed internationally by WSI, the world’s largest network of Internet Consultants.

Once a business has made the decision to go online there are a number of important considerations beyond the development of the site itself. Concepts such as security—an ongoing and evolving process—is rarely given the attention it deserves. Through the consulting services offered by WSI, a business can acquire the critical knowledge it needs to protect itself from becoming an Internet security statistic. “Education is the key to a business protecting itself online,” explains WSI Internet Consultant Rene Garcia. “Everyday companies unknowingly make mistakes that leave their systems vulnerable to digital attacks. With the proper knowledge and software in place these mistakes can be avoided, saving money and increasing productivity and efficiency in the process.”

Typically, the news media focuses on attacks to large corporations and government agencies, leaving small- to medium-sized businesses with the impression that Internet security isn’t an issue that concerns them. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Any business, no matter what its size or function faces potential threats from hackers each day for numerous reasons. By teaching companies how to defend their systems, WSI Internet Consultants strive to keep their clients informed and safe. As WSI clients know, one of the largest daily threats is the increased reliance on email—one of the most versatile and important tools to any online business. However, email as a communication medium is insecure and opens the door to potential attacks such as virus distribution and unsolicited advertisements or “spam”.

The popularity and widespread adoption of email is no accident; it is often more efficient than other means of communication and allows customers to quickly contact a business from anywhere in the world at any time of day. But as inboxes fill up with orders, inquiries, and correspondence, they also fill up with spam. In November 2003, measurements by Brightmail's Probe Network showed that 56% of all email was spam related. This has caused many industry insiders to predict that by mid-2004 spam will surpass the 60% mark.

And with ever-increasing spam comes larger threats to security. Spam in itself is an annoying nuisance that many businesses find drains productivity, distracts employees, and can be offensive. It also has a negative effect on server and storage space and can slow down connection time. In addition to this effect on valuable network resources, spam can also contain malicious code, and in some cases has been connected to credit card fraud and software piracy. With thousands of email messages being received and sent by individual companies each day, many businesses are making themselves an easy target to hackers, viruses, and spam. By utilizing WSI’s industry leading technology such as intrusion detection applications, authentication devices, and firewalls, a business can position itself to avoid the costly consequences associated with digital attacks.

Few can forget how fast the Sobig.F virus spread through the online world this past August, crippling entire network systems with the sheer volume of email traffic it produced. In just a few short weeks, this email-based threat caused $29.7 billion worth of damage to companies worldwide that were caught unprepared for such an attack.

Businesses can avoid costly security threats by practicing safe online behavior and employing server-based traffic filtering technologies, such as those offered by WSI’s hosting environment. As each business is different, WSI Internet Consultants can assess which methods will suit a particular company best and then deploy those solutions to protect their clients. As WSI Internet Consultant Garcia says, “Knowledge is power and with the right information in hand, most Internet security threats can easily be avoided.”

WSI SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING--PUTTING BUSINESSES IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS ON DEMAND11/5/2003
Toronto, Canada

According to Forrester Research, e-Commerce sales will increase 19% year-over-year, rising to $229 billion in 2008 from $95.7 billion in 2003. With so many commercial sites on the Internet all vying for the same consumer dollars, it is becoming progressively more difficult for businesses to stand out and find their market. The solution to this ever-growing challenge is Search Engine Marketing: an integral part of WSI’s industry-leading Internet Solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses.

Customers who already know a business’ web address will have little problem finding and utilizing a site, however, this makes up a very small percentage of the potential clientele who use the Internet every day. Research shows that the majority of Internet users rely on search engines like Google™ and Yahoo™ to quickly locate the products and services they need.

While few would discount the value of being listed in a search engine—a process that can take weeks or months, depending on the service—many don’t realize that simply being listed isn’t enough. Not anymore. Sites must rank among the top search results if they ever hope to see a user click-through. By employing WSI’s Search Engine Optimization strategies, sites not only get listed within days, they also appear at the top of search results where interested consumers are looking for information.

One highly effective Search Engine Marketing option offered by WSI is known as “Guaranteed Inclusion”. This traffic generation system is becoming increasingly popular among WSI clients because the results are guaranteed. In order to drive this guaranteed traffic to client sites WSI Internet Consultants must first create a profile of a business’ potential prospects. Then, through a proprietary process which involves analyzing millions of “traffic-trails” on the World Wide Web, the WSI Internet Consultant will identify the exact targeted search terms and phrases that these prospects are currently using to identify products and services similar to the ones being offered by the business owner. Once defined, WSI Internet Consultants can position a business so that when an Internet user enters a query using those words or phrases into a partnered search engine, the client’s site is returned at the top of the search results. With hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of links being returned in any given keyword search, the advantage given to WSI optimized sites is significant.

What’s best of all is that using WSI’s Guaranteed Inclusion system, business owners only pay for the traffic that they get; that is, businesses only pay when a potential customer clicks through to their site, making this an extremely controllable and cost-effective method of reaching a wide audience. This is especially important for WSI’s target market of small- to medium-sized businesses, where budgets don’t allow for large-scale “broadcast” advertising. WSI clients determine how much they wish to pay for the service each month, allowing them to easily set out and manage their online advertising budget.

WSI’s Guaranteed Inclusion system is also extremely flexible, as keywords and phrases can easily be changed to improve results, take advantage of seasonal opportunities or target different market segments. WSI Internet Consultants continually monitor their clients’ campaigns and suggest modifications whenever necessary to ensure consistent top rankings according to the business goals of their clients. This is an important competitive advantage on today’s Internet where sales are won and lost in the time it takes to enter a few keywords and hit “Search”.

WSI DATA CENTER CONTINUES TO SET STANDARD FOR NETWORK AND WEB HOSTING RELIABILITY8/29/2003
Toronto, Canada
In its quarterly review of Network Operations, WSI released figures today indicating that its Toronto Data Center continues to set the standard for network and web hosting reliability. According to WSI CTO Bob Lewis, the Company’s Toronto Data Center has maintained 99.9% service availability since January of 2003, surpassing the company’s stated SLA (Service Level Agreement) of 99.7% uptime. This level of service availability places WSI in the top percentile of web hosting performance.

Network stability has always been a priority for WSI, a fact proven during the unprecedented August 2003 blackout that affected millions of homes and businesses across the northeastern U.S. and Canada. While many I.T. companies were left in the dark until power levels stabilized, WSI’s full services were back up in less than 4 hours and its critical systems were unaffected by the blackout. Lewis attributes this success under such extreme circumstances to the company’s investment in backup systems and well-defined disaster recovery protocols. “From the moment power was lost, our backup systems maintained our core services and on-site generators were activated to restore reliable hosting capacity,” explains Lewis. WSI’s system of redundant Internet connections meant connectivity to the Internet was uninterrupted, even though many area Internet Service Providers were offline or operating at reduced capacity.

As the world’s leading Internet Solutions franchise, the demands placed on the WSI Data Center are significant. Every day it serves the operational needs of over 700 franchised offices worldwide and thousands of hosted websites. WSI’s global e-Marketplace model also relies on the Toronto Data Center to unite numerous production centers and suppliers with franchisees and the Home Office for vital day-to-day business functions. This amounts to over 2 million emails, over a half a billion hits to its web servers and 350GB of outgoing bandwidth each month.

Through its regular investment in high-end equipment and an ongoing partnership with IBM, WSI has consistently met these demands while maintaining the highest levels of service – definitely a point of pride for the rapidly growing franchise network. “We project even more growth through the 4th quarter of this year,” states Lewis “and further spending on hardware and staffing to meet that growth” he concludes. To keep things running smoothly, all of WSI’s systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by experienced I.T. professionals, including Microsoft Certified System Administrators.

Bob Lewis, WSI’s Chief Technology Officer brings 20 years of I.T. experience from Fortune 500 companies including Merrill Lynch, Aetna Life Insurance and the Bank of Nova Scotia. His background includes all areas of application development, project management, server and database management. Looking ahead, Lewis is excited about expanding WSI’s network capabilities by bringing on new internet traffic routing hubs in selected countries, further enhancing the speed and reliability of the company’s services.

WSI Launches Wealth Creation Opportunity for Developers7/24/2002
Toronto, Canada

“WSI capitalizes on the best of two different software development models to capture global market share”

Two of the greatest software development stories in history were championed by two very different men, using two very different approaches. By harnessing the power of the free enterprise system, Bill Gates created the largest software development company in the world and took his seat at the head of the table as the world’s richest man. Yet with the resources of the world's largest software development company, Microsoft, under his control, Bill Gates and the rest of the world watched in amazement as Linus Torvalds created Linux; what many believed to be the greatest computer operating system the world has ever known. What makes the Linux story even more astounding is that Linus Torvalds did this without any investment capital, no shareholders and without any employees. Torvalds had a vision of creating a new and better operating system that provided an alternative to what many developers saw as the big business, self appointed leader, Windows. Through an open standards software development model, Torvalds harnessed the power of the world’s software developers, all working for free as a virtual software community.

Now WSI, an International Internet Consulting and Education firm is taking a page out of both Gates and Torvalds play book. WSI has established itself as the world’s leading Internet Services Franchise whose systems are used by over 700 franchisees in 87 countries around the world. Rated the #1 Internet Services Franchise in the world by Entrepreneur Magazine, WSI has announced the launch of its e-Marketplace Approved Product (e-MAP) development framework. E-Maps allows independent software and web developers to develop innovative products and web services and earn a royalty on the sale of these products and web services throughout the world.

“The e-MAP initiative has been developed to add value to all of our stake holders, including Internet Consultants, Production Partners and their clients,” said Louis Zalany, WSI’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are harnessing the power of the independent software development community around the world in the same way that Linus Torvalds did; but by cutting each of these software and web service developers in on the action in our global network, they can also profit tremendously. Imagine if all the developers who contributed to the development of Linux received a small royalty on every installation. It’s win win win all around!”

The new products developed through WSI’s e-MAP initiative will be available through WSI Internet Consultants around the world. This will expand the profitability of each WSI Internet Consultant’s business while adding value to their offering for end clients.

If you would like to submit an idea for a new product or technology that you would like to be considered for distribution in WSI's e-Marketplace please email emap@wsicorporate.com

WSI Re-engineers Support Services to Mirror Tiered Support Models of Top Fortune 500 IT Companies10/15/2001
Toronto, Canada

It is projected that by 2005, Business-to-Business e-commerce will represent $8.5 trillion US. Predictions of incredible growth are driving companies to re-engineer how they operate their businesses in order to keep up with growth in demand.

WSI, a worldwide leader and leading edge Internet Consulting and Education Company, has carefully positioned itself to comfortably handle its vertical growth throughout the world. WSI has reinvented their business process including how they deliver support to their clients. Due to vertical growth in the company’s client base, demand for support by its “Internationally Recognized Internet Consultants,” has rapidly grown to thousands of requests a month.

In order to maintain the scalability of their support services, WSI has moved to a multi-tiered support infrastructure. This carefully engineered backbone allows WSI to deliver quality service to over 700 Consultants in over 85 countries globally. This centralized support system has given support staff the ability to triage each support issue. Issues of high impact to a Consultant’s business can be addressed immediately while still meeting service level agreements for issues of a lower priority.

The support services department is enabled to deliver quality support through effective tools and empowered staff. The mantra of the support center is that every Internet Consultant and their clients are our top customer and priority.

Some of the web-enabled tools of WSI’s support center include a ticketing CRM system that tracks all the requests and keeps the user updated on a real-time basis with the status of his or her request. The CRM also contains a knowledge base that provides WSI Consultants access to self-support around the clock. At the same time, support staff has a customized interface into the MAPS™ system - the nucleus of WSI’s operations backbone and their e-Marketplace.

WSI’s advanced networking system includes wireless enabled communicators including two way paging devices, monitoring software and intelligent systems that allow support representatives to trouble shoot issues from remote locations.

WSI has announced that the MAPS™ system is expected to become WAP enabled during the 1st quarter of 2002. This will eliminate the need for wired communications by allowing WSI Consultants to access “real-time” information and contact with the WSI support services department from any location. Support can receive requests through the web, email or by telephone.

WSI announces new Web Operating System (WOS) for management of websites.9/6/2001
Toronto, Canada

WSI has deployed a new Web Operating System (WOS) within its hosting environment. The WOS is a secure, browser-based website control management interface. It represents a significant leap forward in providing a self-service solution for the management of hosted websites. The impact of the WOS translates into more rapid deployment of websites as well as more timely maintenance of sites.

The greatest benefits will be to WSI’s network of Internet Consultants (ICs) and Production Centers. The WOS enables management of site files, email, security, databases, traffic and utilization reports via any browser. In the past it would take hours to launch a site, but now can be done within minutes, at any time of the day, anywhere in the world.

“Our franchisees are located around the world,” explains Bob Lewis, WSI CTO. "While people are working in one part of the world, the other half of the world is asleep. But global business never stops and the sun never sets on WSI’s global production capacities. By deploying the WOS, we can re-deploy our nighttime resources to other activities in support of the network. At the same time, the process of placing sites online is greatly reduced. It’s a win-win situation for our network. ”

WSI announces creation of the Virtual Private Marketplace (VPM) for its network of franchisees.5/5/2001
Toronto, Canada

WSI has created the first e-marketplace within the Internet franchise sector. The Virtual Private Market Place (VPM) is a B2B system, which enables WSI’ s Internet Consultants (ICs)and Production Centers to collaborate and transact business via the Internet. At the core of the VPM is the MAPS™ system, which is a web-based project management and communication system.

According to International Data Corporation, e-markets are expected to generate over $2 trillion dollars of transactions by 2004. E-markets are ideally suited to businesses that support supply chain relationships such as WSI’s network of ICs and Production Centers. To illustrate, an IC located in the US is working with a mid-sized business to develop an e-commerce solution. After the IC documents all design and functionality requirements, an on-line work estimate for the building of the solution is submitted to several Production Centers via MAPS™. After the chosen Production Center completes the project and the IC’s client signs off the work, payment is made to the Production Center and the site is placed on-line. The entire cycle is completed virtually and coordinated through the MAPS™ system. “The VPM and the MAPS system are integral components supporting our network of franchisees and the growth of our business model,” said President Nigel Mayne. “The VPM model is highly scalable and will accommodate thousands of additional business relationships as WSI continues it’s phenomenal growth.”

WSI announces the launch of its new web-based Business Management System – MAPS™4/6/2001
Toronto, Canada

WSI has released to its network of Internet Consultants and production centers a groundbreaking new system for managing all aspects of web-developed. Known as MAPS™, the system is an integrated web based, project management, project accounting, time management and website management system.

WSI is the first global Internet consultancy firm to develop and deploy a web-based project management system. With a network of over 700 franchise owners and production centers located globally, the ability to communicate from a common platform was a critical factor in developing the system.

As outlined by the company’s CTO Bob Lewis, “our global network of Internet Consultants (ICs) provides thousands of e-business solutions for small to medium sized businesses; which in turn are sent to production centers around the globe for development. To ensure consistent and systematic project development, timely delivery, real-time communication and collaboration, it makes sense to provide a common tool for managing all phases web development. MAPS™ is the key communication and collaboration tool of our network. Without it, the kind of high volume project management that our Internet Consultants require would be very difficult. Just imagine submitting work to many different Production Centers, each with a different project management and development process, using 4 different architectures…what a nightmare.”

Developed in conjunction with a research and development grant from the Canadian Government, MAPS™ is anticipated to immediately benefit Internet Consultants and Production Centers. For Internet Consultants, MAPS™ will manage all projects developed for their clients. All issues associated with a project are recorded within the system, so a complete audit trail is available at the click of a mouse. Having a central project management facility improves IC efficiency. Full project scheduling, profit and loss and resource time tracking allow Production Centers to deliver projects on time and within budget. Access to the system is available 24/7 via any browser; which is a must for global-based operations.
